How to Open the Door,if Your WELOCK Smart Lock Battery is Dead?

Smart door locks are becoming more and more popular today as smart security is rapidly gaining popularity, but they are more dependent on the power supply. What to do if the battery runs out or the power supply is interrupted? In this blog post, we will cover how to unlock the WELOCK smart lock when the battery is dead.

What is the WELOCK Smart Lock powered by?

The WELOCK smart lock is powered by three AAA batteries with a battery life of 8-10 months.
The batteries are not included in the box and need to be purchased separately.

How to unlock it when the battery is dead?

1. Replace the Batteries
If your lock isn’t working, the most frequent reason is dead batteries. Please replace them promptly, and we recommend using high-quality batteries to extend the lock’s lifespan.

2. Use the USB Emergency Unlocking
If the WELOCK smart lock doesn't work or the battery is dead, you can use the USB emergency backup unlock method. You need to prepare a charged power bank with a Type-C or Android data cable. For detailed instructions, refer to the video below.

3. Use the Backup Mechanical Key
Some WELOCK smart door locks support traditional key unlocking. You can carry your backup key or store it in a secure location to handle emergency situations.

How to prevent battery problems?

1. Regularly Check the Battery Status
The WELOCK smart lock device will nudge you when the battery’s getting low. You can also check the battery level status of your lock via the WELOCK app.

2. Replace Batteries Early
Don't wait until the battery is completely dead and stop working to replace the battery. It's best to replace the batteries every 8-10 months (or earlier if you use it daily) to avoid getting locked out.

3. Use High-Quality Batteries
Choose reputable and high-quality AAA batteries to keep your lock running reliably and extend battery life, and prevent accidental power outages.

💡 Quick Tip: Keep a spare set of batteries in your junk drawer as a backup.
